How to contact your customers about their home insurance
We know the coronavirus pandemic has had a profound impact on our working lives . As we start to emerge into a new way of living and working , advisers should use this opportunity to speak to existing and new clients about their current circumstances . Talking to them about their home insurance policy is a great way for advisers to open-up the conversation about their wider protection needs and make sure people are covered for uncertain times .
There are so many unique and different scenarios to consider and everyone ’ s personal circumstances are different . From shielding a vulnerable person , to following ever-changing government guidelines and the migration towards working from home , the crisis has caused a seismic shift in what ’ s considered ‘ normal ’ and led us to live in strange and new ways .
Whatever the new normal may be , we can help
With new challenges for those looking to generate new business , reaching out to existing clients is an effective way for advisers to ensure they can , first and foremost , provide the vital guidance and support that people may need . Being there for customers and being present during this time of unprecedented change will establish trust and integrity , potentially leading to better business outcomes , including the generation of new business with existing clients .
Our new weekly GI Club – available through the website , can help provide advisers with tools and ideas for how to discuss GI , forming an inclusive support group that ’ ll help to keep them motivated along the way . We also have some hints and tips for selling techniques available for use within .
By discovering the impact COVID-19 is having on customers personally , advisers will be better able to assess whether the cover they have provides adequate protection . This will reduce the risk of customers cancelling their policies , a risk which could ultimately cost them more in the long run , particularly if they ever need to make a claim .
Advisers should also speak to clients whose policies are up for renewal . Many of these customers may not have reviewed their existing policy and considered whether it is still an appropriate level of cover for their current situation , especially if they ’ re now working from home more .
How can we help advisers ?
With our new online Learning and Development hub , we ’ re here to support Advisers and help them navigate the general insurance market , whilst adapting to new ways of working . The hub features digital and video guides , blogs and e-learning webinars to help Advisers understand and improve their general insurance business models .
Advisers can also sign up for a series of online workshops and webinars through the hub , covering a number of topics including sales psychology , product demonstrations and back to basics on home insurance .
If you ’ d like more information on how to contact your customers about their home insurance needs please get in touch with your account manager Hannah Keane ( hannah . keane @ landg . com ), join our GI Club via the website and whilst there , sign up for one of our under the helping you to grow section .
