9:00am – 5:00pm Easy right ...? However , is this actually anyone anymore ?

One thing that our careers have taught us over the last few years , especially post-COVID , is that the 9 – 5 office hour norm is a thing of the past , and my day-today is no exception .

When reflecting what I get up to in a day , it especially highlighted how demanding our workloads have become over recent times , specifically within our changing markets . So , if you do not get any further with this article , take a huge pat on the back for surviving and coping so well with the challenges we ’ ve experienced over the last year . As a very learned friend told me ; ‘ tough times never last but tough people do ’.

For a lot of us , our days begin way before our workday starts and having a young family , I am certainly in this camp , having a young dancer and competitive swimmer to support .

I have inadvertently signed myself up for very early starts and late finishes , not to mention becoming a serial volunteer ! Another huge pat on the back to all working parents , single or otherwise .

My workdays are incredibly varied as my role is mostly field based , and national , meaning that no two days or locations are usually the same .
